3 General The Ribbon Quick Buttons Saving Printing Templates

4 The Ribbon..? Tabs… Groups… Tools… Everything you had and more...!

5 Quick Buttons Quick Buttons appear on the title bar of the application. They are common tasks that one would need to use typically from within the File tab. The Quick Buttons are customizable so you can add or remove buttons as you see fit. The customization menu offers a huge array of commands that can be added.

6 Saving To Save or to Save as..?
Save and Save as can both be pinned to the Quick buttons area. But are also found within the File Tab. Do you know the Difference between Saving and Saving As? Save will save the Document with it’s current name. Save As will give you a dialog to save the Document with a new name. (Make a second copy of your Document) Save & Save As as they appear on the File Tab and Quick Buttons area.

7 Printing Print is accessible though the File Tab and has been combined with Print Preview. When Print is selected through the File Tab a print preview as well as options for printing will appear on the screen. (E.g. paper size, type, orientation and printer) Quick Print can be pinned to the Quick button area. Using Quick Print will cause the Document to be printed to the default printer with all current or default settings. Print in the File Tab and Quick Print on the Quick Button area.

8 Templates can be accessed on the File Tab
Templates can be accessed on the File Tab. Select the New option and you will see a few templates that are already available to you. A search box near the top allow you to search Office Online for additional templates E.g. Meeting Minutes Clicking a template will give you some details on the templates and will give you the option to download and start working on the template. Any templates you have downloaded will appear on the initial page for reuse in the future. Templates

9 Word Tables Mail Merge Letters and Mailings Labels

10 Tables The Table Tool is on the Insert Tab within the Tables group. All commands for inserting a new table are found here. Once you have a table you get access to the Table Tools Context Tabs. (Design & Layout) Any commands to manipulate your tables within the document are found on these two tabs. Inserting a Row, Columns, Splitting Cells, Merging Cells, Alignment, Drawing new lines and erasing lines.

11 Mail Merge Mail Merge is under the Mailing Tab and in the Start Mail Merge Group.

12 Letters & Labels Envelopes and Labels are also Found on the Mailings Tab in the Create Group. They function the same as they did in earlier versions of Word.

13 Excel Formulas Sorting/Filtering Graphs

14 Formulas All formula work is done from the Formulas Tab. There is groups for the Function Library Defined Names (Variables) and Formula Auditing. More Often then not the only commands needed with be Insert Function or AutoSum.

15 Sorting & Filtering Sorting and Filtering are found on the Data Tab and can be use as a quick button or in a more advanced dialog.

16 Graphs Graphs are inserted from the Insert Tab and are found in the Charts Group

17 Others Picture Manager Visio SkyDrive
Picture Manager will not be changed and will remain as it currently functions. Visio will be updated to on an as needed basis and will not be covered in Office 2013 updates SkyDrive will not be implemented at this time. Please do not save documents to a personal SkyDrive account.
