What is Grants.gov? Grants.gov allows organizations to electronically find and apply for competitive grant opportunities from Federal grant-making agencies.

Getting Started  UD is the registered applicant for Grants.gov  Grant researchers are not required to register or login to Grants.gov  Do not register as an individual investigator

Getting Started  Download PureEdge Viewer  Obtain CFDA number or Funding Opportunity Number  Download your application package

Application Package  Download package  Save the package to your computer  Complete the package – Save as per RFP  Attach package to UD Grants Proposal with the appropriate naming convention, i.e., proposal number_other (document type extension which will be added by system)

Providing the package to OVPR  Attach to the PeopleSoft record  Attach to an  UD Drop Box

Submitting Proposal  Notifying OVPR? At the start of preparation On the Proposal Approval Summary form Whenever you need assistance in the process

Remember the 72-hour Policy  The Office of the Vice Provost for Research (OVPR) has announced a new 72-hour policy for processing research proposals to funding agencies. Beginning January 3, 2007 UD researchers will need to allow their institutional representative at OVPR a minimum of 72 hours (three business days) to review and approve funding proposals in advance of agency deadlines.

Can I Make Changes to My Application?  Requires complete new submission Prior to submission deadline Update UD Grants Proposal System Agency specific – contact Grantor Agency to determine how resubmission should be indicated on the cover page

Tracking the Proposal  OVPR notified of successful submission  Tracking restricted by Grants.gov to OVPR

Future of Grants.gov  All federal agencies will be submitting through Grants.gov  Stay tuned…
