Assist faculty, staff and students in securing and managing sponsored program support Staff are organized into Pre-Award and Post Award teams

Proposals Award Management Contract and Licensing Negotiation Data Access and Support Services Regulatory Compliance

4 Ag Field Office Satellite Office of central Sponsored Programs Office
Located in Ag Administration Building Unique expertise due to federal appropriations, cooperative agreements and special initiative funding related to Purdue University being a Land Grant University.

5 Ag Field Office Review all Ag faculty proposals for Dean approval
SPS review for USDA, Field Extension and International proposals Communicate guidelines and policies Award Management Provide SPS training to faculty, staff and business offices Resource to all Ag faculty and staff

6 Proposal Preparation & Processing
Principal Investigator’s Role: Notify Business Office early in the process Provide a copy of sponsor guidelines Determine if University cost sharing is required Communicate any deviations from standard F&A Prepare the budget narrative justifying budget items Proposal Deadline Policy– Proposals must be received in final form in the Ag Field Office in AGAD 108 no later than 10:00 a.m. on the third business day prior to the submission date.

7 Proposal Preparation & Processing
Business Office Role: Review sponsor guidelines with PI Prepare internal budget (COEUS) Obtain approvals needed for cost sharing Complete budget forms required by the sponsor Obtain appropriate departmental/college administrative signatures Assist with electronic proposal submissions (Ex. Grants.gov, NSF Fastlane)

8 Proposal Preparation & Processing
SPS Role: Final review to assure proposal and budget meet Sponsor & University guidelines Confirm approvals of any unique circumstances (i.e. Cost sharing or F&A rate) Obtain institutional signature Submit proposal to sponsor Provide assistance for complex, unique proposals Resource for questions
