Positive Aspects Keeps personal information safe. A fundamental human right recognized in the UN Declaration of Human Rights. Laws promote electronic commerce. In the US, personal information must be: Obtained fairly and lawfully Used only for the original specified purpose Destroyed after purpose is completed

Criticisms Problems resulting from violating one’s privacy can lose one’s valuable information and belongings Facebook violating Privacy Law (article saying that it's ridiculous that one has to give up one’s personal information to take a quiz on Facebook) In order to lessen this problem, one should always keep their valuables with them or in sight and make people aware of how wrong it is to violate other’s privacy and consequences that could result from it.

Opinion Despite some benefits, we feel that the negative aspects affect us much more, and therefore, should be careful sharing information with others. What can be done to lessen the problem? Never save your password on a public computer! Do not give away your personal info online Change your password frequently Be aware of frauds—may lead to serious consequences, such as identity theft
