Hypotheses Hypothesis 1: –Participants will remember more items during immediate recall rather than delayed recall. Hypothesis 2: –Participants will group certain words together, in order to help them remember more of the words that were presented to them.

Methods Participants -12 participants Stimuli –Delayed Recall list –Immediate Recall list

Procedure Delayed Recall Search-a-word puzzle Immediate Recall Demographic Sheet

Results Hypothesis 1: –Delayed recall 47.5% –Immediate recall 57.5% Hypothesis 2: –On average participants grouped 1.67 of the delayed recall condition while they grouped 4.60 of the immediate recall condition.

Delayed Recall

Immediate Recall

Discussion What have we learned? - Participants recall more words when using grouping as a method of remembering. Improvements: –Improve the lists –More participants
