My journal Dear journal 7th February 1872 The Chinese people have finally arrived “Yaaay!” ( I'm being sarcastic) I still can’t believe they let those ignorant immigrants into Australia. The Government must be the most stupidest person in the world! This an outrage, Their a disgrace to the human race and their also Chinese. Girls clothing on the goldfields Girls in the goldfields were supposed to dress up like their mothers. They wore tight waist so the top of the dress would pop up. They wore tight leather boots with bright stockings to tell them they were ladies

The men and boys cloths: Basically, for the boys the just wear what their fathers wore. The men and boys wore long tracksuit pants with a leather belt to hold it up. The men wore these long top hat and the higher the hat was, the richer they were.it was rough for the boys because they only had 2-3 pairs of clothes. The under 5 boys had the worst issue of clothing, dresses

What did they eat on the goldfields? Food: Food on the goldfields would have been the hardest thing ever to do. They ate mutton(lamb)damper(a bread made of flour, water and salt) and tea. The storage of food was appalling as well as water. It was rare of miners to get clean water because the liquid had been mixed with dirt from all the panning happening in the creeks. A lot of people were dying from food infestation and diseases (typhoid and dysentery) they built stores and traders to buy food( the food was actually clean)

At first they slept in small tents that could possibly fit 7 people each. Then they moved on o huts made of canvas, bark and wood. Hotels, jail and the government camps were also made of the same material (note: canvas was least used to build). To live in the hotel would of cost

Life on the goldfields for Chinese people and Australian (and low life was like for the Chinese ) There were three jobs that the Chinese people could do. The fist job the had to grow vegetable . The people relied on the Chinese people. The second job on the goldfields was cooking the had to cook all the meals, with little help from Australian chefs. They work 24/7 and that’s what makes it hard to move without racist comments coming out of the miners ignorant mouths. They were forced to the Australian people laundry when their wives just look after 3-4 children. Mining was the most dangerous for the Chinese

Who went to the goldfields? Many people came to the Australian goldmines and goldfields, in search for gold. The country that sent most people would have been the Chinese. Their only goal was, to receive a satisfactory level of gold to satisfy themselves. Most boat trips took about 7-8 months. The rate of survival was very low. Some people were killed from digestion, but mostly people died from infections. Miners that survived the 8 months were very weak and unfit. Until they regained their strength.

Life for woman and children Life for the women and children was tough. Women had to do the most natural choirs suited for a women's nature. Meaning laundry, feeding the kids, hide the gold, basically they mostly do what the Chinese people do. Men sometimes think that they do most of the work. The only thing they do is the mine. Whenever men were unsatisfied and bored, the women and the children had to dance or entertain them men until they were satisfied.

Did everyone find gold? Miners found little specks of gold, but Found 2 main discoveries in the gold rush. There was hotelman's nugget and ‘welcome stranger’. The ‘Welcome stranger’ nugget was discovered on the 5th February 1853 BY John Deason and Richard Oates. The Hotelman's nugget was named after Benhadt Otto Holtermann. His gold nugget weighed 256kg and was 1.5 m long
