Statistical Analysis of Search Engine Results Reeshabh Gadda alias Shah, Sanjay Thakkar Department of Computer Science University of Southern California Los Angeles, CA Guided By: Prof Ellis Horowitz

General Description Our project aims to analyze the results of several search engines. Metrics used for analysis are: percentage of results shared by the search engines, percentage of results unique to a particular search engine, percentage of sponsored results shared by the search engines for a particular query, percentage of sponsored results unique to a particular search engine.

This will help us understand the results pattern better and hence help us choose the right search engine for specific searches or queries. General Description

Software Used Dataset used for queries: Google Zeitgeist. Programming language used: Java. Server-side Scripting: Perl. Backend Database: Oracle.
