3 Project Description  Development of a Computing help desk for Pace University students, faculty and employees.  For members of the local community, particularly for non-profit organizations.

4 What’s the help desk?  The system will deal with problem management.  The help desk is a system where users can report their computer based problems.  The help desk will consist of a Web interface to a backend database, which will store all the information about the problems reported.

5 System Requirements…….  A server –Windows based –ODBC support

6 Software Requirements  Server Side –A web-server –Perl 5 –A Database  Create DSN “HelpDesk” –The DSN can be changed by editing “config.pl”  Client Side –Any Operating System –Web Browser  Java Script support  Cookie enabled

7 Problems….  Creating DSN on windows  Perl connectivity and database creation  SQL queries
