Weather & negation

Weather expressions: In French they don’t say “It’s nice out”, they say “It makes nice” or “It makes bad” Il fait beau. Il fait mauvais. Il fait bon. Il fait du vent.

When precipitation is involved, they use a separate verb for each type of weather. Il pleut. Il neige. Il gèle. Le soleil brille.

Negation Negation means how to say “not” in English. To say ‘not’ in French you add ne ……….. pas This goes around the verb. Je suis grand. Je ne suis pas grand. However, if the verb begins with a vowel then the ‘ne’ changes to ‘n’ ‘. Elle est grande. Elle n’est pas grande.
