Information Literacy Defined Association of College and Research Libraries focuses on "the set of skills needed to find, retrieve, analyze, and use information"

Information Literacy Defined Shapiro and Hughes (1996) argue for a broader definition that ranges from "knowing how to use computers and access information to critical reflection on the nature of information itself, its technical infrastructure, and its social, cultural and even philosophical context and impact."

What are the ideal elements of a program for developing information literacy practices? …a well-funded program that provides resources for both staff/faculty development and training, as well as staff positions dedicated to researching cutting- edge technologies and disseminating the information.

What are the ideal elements of a program for developing information literacy practices? Content experts, role models, peer mentors, and help resources would be readily available to students and faculty.

What are the ideal elements of a program for developing information literacy practices? Centralized workspaces and access to tools that support production and collaboration among students, staff and faculty are key factors of a successful program.
