Welcome…. Printmaking Students! Throughout this 1 semester course (.5 credit), we will engage in the study of the following concepts: Monoprints Relief Printmaking Linoleum Block Collagraph Batik Techniques Color Mixing/ Color Theory Drawing (Perspective) Principles of Design Symbolism/Metaphor Art History/Contemporary Art Studies Reflective Writing & Discussion Please be prepared to write about and discuss art concepts.

Relief printmaking Simply means creating a relief (a surface that is set out from the background, in order to print the raised surface) For example; woodcut, linoleum block and collagraph.

Collagraph - Textural Examples

Collagraph to create architectural elements We will be creating a final collagraph project, using textured areas to create a “corner of a room” image. The class will learn the basics of drawing one and two point perspective, in order to enhance the project outcome.
