Objectif du voyage (Trip objective) First immersion trip to a French speaking part of the world Learn about the History and Culture of La Belle Provence Experience typical winter time activities of the target culture including the Carnaval d’hiver!

Le voyage en gros (Overview of the trip) Dates: –Departure – Thursday, February 7 (6:00am – 6:30am) Depart in a Coach Bus (Premier Limosine) Travel time = Approx. 8 hours Location = Front of School –Return – Sunday, February 10 (8:00 pm – 9:00 pm) Depart in a Coach Bus (Premier Limo) Travel time = Approx. 8 hours Location = Front of School Please note: All students are required to attend school on the days immediately preceding and following the trip.

The price includes transportation, all of the aforementioned activities and meals. The price does not include the following: –Lunch on the bus ride to and from –Tip for Tour Guide ($12 / student) –Tip for the Bus Driver ($8 / student) –Personal spending money

Les chambres (Rooming) Rooming is generally 3 to 4 students per room. Students may request roommates.

Documents d’entrée (Passport or Birth Certificate w/ID) CHILDREN & STUDENTS (15 YEARS OR YOUNGER) ****see exception Valid Passport - All passports must be valid for at least six (6) months beyond the conclusion of your trip OR Original Birth Certificate (copies must be notarized) – it is suggested that a piece of photo identification (such as a School Student ID Card) should accompany the birth certificate

Foreign Passports Must have Green Card with Passport in order to re-enter the United States. Documents d’entrée (Passport or Birth Certificate w/ID)

Please make TWO (2) COPIES of the passport/documents. Keep 1 copy home, please submit one copy to your tour leader. All official documents will be collected and verified the morning of departure. Les valises (Packing) You packed it, you carry it! Layers, layers, layers. Gloves, hats, scarves Ski-Type Outfit Extra socks Water-Proof Boots Lip balm/tissues IT WILL BE COLD AND THE BEST WAY TO ENJOY THE TRIP IS TO BE WELL PREPARED.

Since the price of the trip includes all the food, pocket money is at the discretion of each family. First stop is at a Money Exchange. Only change enough for the trip. It’s costly to change money back to dollars. Only use Canadian money. Traveler's checks / Cash / ATM Card –Use which ever you feel most comfortable giving to your son/daughter. L’argent de poche

Les cellulaires (Cell Phones) The use of a cell phone in Canada can be very pricey. Check with your carrier to determine fees per phone call/text. Decide how/when you will get in contact. I will give you my cell phone # in the event of an emergency.

Pour s’inscrire (To register) Registration is done online through Prométour’s website. Your respective tour leader (M. Smith or Mme Grébert) will be sending you an with more information and specifics to register such as logon and password information.

Et si…? (What if…?) Q: What if there is bad weather the day of departure? A: We will be closely monitoring the weather in the days leading up to the trip. All updates and communication will be done via . If weather threatens the day of departure, we would delay our departure time accordingly.

Et si…? (What if…?) Q: What if there is bad weather the day students return? A: We will be in contact with the tour company and bus company to determine the best course of action. We would either leave early or delay the departure time from Québec.

Et si…? (What if…?) Q: What if my child gets sick or hurt? A: The chaperones will first contact the parent to discuss the situation and decide a course of action together. Prométour has an on-call doctor in the event a student needs to be seen. In emergencies, we would certainly call 911 and seek medical attention immediately.

Et si…? (What if…?) Q: What if my child takes a regular medication ? A: Students who take a regular prescription medication are required to complete a Medical Authorization form for each medication. The parent shall then provide the chaperone with enough medication for the trip. The chaperone will then dispense it to the student as prescribed.

Et si…? (What if…?) Q: What if there is a discipline problem on the trip? A: In the event of a serious discipline issue, the chaperone will contact the principal and student’s dean to inform them of the situation. Depending on the type of discipline problem, an appropriate course of action will be followed.

Et si…? (What if…?) Q: What happens if you are delayed coming back? A: I will send text a message to parents via their cell phones to alert them of any delay or our arrival.
