Nevada Alejandra Martinez EDU 204 Information Technology in Teaching, NSC, Dr. Graziano Jan. 25, th Grade

Introduction Last night, around 3 A.M, Nevada experienced a power shortage throughout the whole state. State officials did the best they could to turn the power back on. When the lights finally came back on, the state museums realized the state birth certificate, flag, bird and seal had gone missing. There are “Missing” signs posted all over the city.

Task Your job as a young detective is to go on a hunt to find the missing information about Nevada and bring it to the city museum. You will create a poster board illustrating your findings on when Nevada became a state, the state capital, bird, seal and flag. Your work will be displayed on the museum walls for a gallery walk. Be prepared to explain your findings to state officials.

Accommodations A good detective sometimes needs the help of others. You will be allowed to work with another young detective from your department. No more than two detectives for each museum presentation. Make sure you confirm your partner with me before proceeding with your investigation.

Process 1 The first part of your investigation will be to find the date of when Nevada entered the union rank. This is normally referred to as the state birth date. This is your first clue for your case. Click on the link to find the important date. ml ml Make sure you record your findings in your handy-dandy detective notebook.

Process 2 Next you are to click on the website below. Here you will find a map of the United States. Locate the state of Nevada on the United States map. You are to draw out the outline of Nevada, place the capital in the right location on the state using a star with the capital name next to it. Make sure your state outline is big enough, this will be place on your visual for the gallery walk. usa.html usa.html

Process 3 Part of your job as a detective is to find the state bird. You will need to draw out the bird and label it on your museum visual. Click on the link below, once you are on the website click on the state bird. Make sure the state bird is the correct color and labeled on your display board.

Process 4 Next you are to find the state seal. This will also be placed on your museum visual. You will need to draw the state seal and write at least 2 facts about it. The link below will help you with your facts. eSEAL.html eSEAL.html

Process 5 Finally, your last piece of information will be found in the link below. pages/usa/nevada/state-flag.html pages/usa/nevada/state-flag.html Here you will color the state flag in the appropriate colors. You will do this by selecting the color, placing the cursor on the spot of the flag that you want to color in, and click the mouse. Make sure you print out your final project and paste it on your museum display poster.

Final Product Congratulations, you are one step closer to completing your search on the missing information from the state museum. Now that you have gathered up all the components needed for your display your last job as detectives will be putting all your findings together to create your museum display. This will be done on a poster board; make sure you include the state name, all the information required(check task) and place your detective names on the back of the poster board to receive credit. Make sure your poster board is nice and neat, remember that it will be presented in the gallery walk.

Evaluation Your efforts will be graded as followed: Followed all steps and directions 20pts Poster -neatness 10pts -organization 20pts -content 10pts Presentation 40pts Total /100pts
