Say ‘Yes’ to a hunger-free India

Hunger - World Every year, 20 million deaths across the world are caused by hunger. World-wide, out of every four people who die of hunger, three are children. Over 1 billion people – almost a fifth of the world’s population are undernourished.

Hunger - India India has the largest number of hungry people in the world. One-third of the world's 860 million hungry people are Indian. 49 per cent of rural Indian children are malnourished.

The Burning Problem 7,000 people die of hunger every day in India. One-third of our countrymen go to bed hungry every night. For the poor in India, hunger has become a way of life.

Motivation A developed India must have no hunger - all other strides are but superficial. It is time we did something about the hunger and poverty situation in India

Annam A unique feeding and skill building programme that addresses the hunger problem. Everyday people are fed at our centre in Kakinada, AP. The vision: Have 40 centres across India, serving 2,500 people per centre, i.e. 1,00,000 people everyday.

Feeding The feeding is done very professionally, and with love and seeks to restore human dignity. Children, aged, handicapped and other destitute people are served. People of all caste, creed and religion are fed.

Skill Building Srishti seeks not only to feed but also to rehabilitate. Counseling and life skills are given to all those who come. Skill-building is done to enable them to earn their livelihoods.

Achievements First steps Five people have been given permanent employment. Drinking has been significantly lowered among those fed. Many children are off the streets and back in school. 200 people are being trained for employment in Hyderabad.
