With God’s Little Ones’ mission is to find caring hearts to demonstrate the love of Jesus, renewing the lives of children, widows, and other disadvantaged persons.

The mission of Kids Against Hunger ® is to significantly reduce the number of hungry children in the USA and to feed God’s starving children throughout the world. The vision of Kids Against Hunger ® is to set up food packaging satellites in the USA and around the world, and to spearhead community and youth volunteer packaging of Kids Against Hunger’s highly nutritious meals.   Since 2006, With God’s Little Ones has benefited from and served with Kids Against Hunger. In September 2008 WGLO became a “mobile unit” of the St. Charles, Missouri, Kids Against Hunger satellite.

A daily serving of this food of rice, soy, vegetables, and many vitamins and minerals will keep a person alive. The cost is about 23 cents a serving. This packet will serve 6 or more people for about $1.35.

After funds are raised for the ingredients, ($50 a carton) the equipment and ingredients are brought to any facility in the St. Louis area where volunteers gather to package the food.

Dried vegetables, soy protein, rice, and vegetarian flavoring containing many vitamins and minerals are measured into packets.

This is an excellent inter-generational event for schools, churches, youth groups, parties, etc. Young kids take the measuring and pouring of the ingredients very seriously.

The packets are weighed, adding or removing rice to get the weight of 390 grams. The packets are carefully heat sealed so they will have a shelf life of 3 years.

The cartons are packed and taped, each carton containing 36 packets of food, 216 average servings.

Some of the Kids Against Hunger food is loaded onto shipping containers at the Orphan Grain Train Center, St. Louis, Missouri. Over 400 boxes of this food were loaded December 2010 bound for Uganda.

UGANDA LIBERIA Kids Against Hunger food has been shipped from St. Louis to Uganda and Liberia in Africa

Here at Christ Community Lutheran School - Kawete, Uganda, about 350 kids ate Kids Against Hunger food for lunch last year.

Donated stainless steel bowls from Purina, St. Louis, were shipped by Orphan Grain Train to Uganda and used for serving bowls.

NICARAGUA

Nicaragua Kids Against Hunger food is unloaded, stored, and cooked in Nicaragua.

In Rancheria, Nicaragua, Kids Against Hunger food is mixed with beans and a banana.

Kids Against Hunger food is sometimes eaten with a tortilla.

St. Louis, Missouri Volunteers from Trinity Lutheran Church get ready to serve about 150 meals at Sts. Peter & Paul Catholic Church, Soulard District, St. Louis, Missouri.

Kids Against Hunger food was used this time, mixing it with onions, carrots, and peas for “fried rice.” Currently three other pantries and feeding centers in the St. Louis area are requesting KAH food.

Mexico Orphan Grain Train, Missouri-Illinois Division, delivered Kids Against Hunger food at the Ysleta Lutheran Mission in El Paso, Texas. They will use this food as they prepare their 150 weekly food packages for families.

Near Juarez, Mexico, Kids Against Hunger has been distributed to families.

Every Wednesday the church community in Anapra, Mexico, feeds 300 children. They were happy to receive the nutritious Kids Against Hunger food.

HAITI RELIEF EFFORTS Over one thousand boxes (about 235,000 meals) of Kids Against Hunger food were prepared in the St. Louis area for the earthquake victims in Haiti. These boxes were loaded on a truck bound for Jacksonville, Florida, where the U.S. Navy shipped and distributed this food in Haiti. Kids Against Hunger has been providing food to Haiti for several years due to the food crisis there even before the earthquake.
