2 Church Reality Check Does your pastor want this? Does your church want this? How much is your church willing to spend? How much time is your church willing to spend? What is your church’s strengths? What are your church’s weaknesses?

3 Community Reality Check What does the community look like in your church’s location? Does it look like your church? Where do your members live? Where do you conduct your outreach? Who are your partners in your outreach?

4 Our Vision Statement to love God through worship, to love the family of God through fellowship, to love the community through service, to love the world through proclaiming the message of Jesus Christ.

5 Commitment Indentifying that Called One Supporting that One with Pastoral encouragement, empowerment, wisdom, freedom and prayer Supporting that One with Church finances, trust, work forces, materials and prayer

7 Step 1 Partner with city, county, state and federal agencies Such as: community centers, school districts, local high schools, elementary schools, county welfare, food stamp centers, health centers, county jails etc.

8 STEP 2 Form partnerships with community coalitions, charitable organizations, social agencies and regional collaborations Find out their needs and desires Be realistic in what you have to offer

9 Step 3 Work within your means Build long time relationships Remember; they are among your outreach for Christ Pray for your community business relationships

10 New Seasons Community Outreach Child Nutrition Program – Provides summer breakfast, lunch and snacks for all children under 18 years old as a sponsor through the California Department of Education. Fall Season of Love Block Party – November 21, 2009 Results: 4,277, guests 364 workers and presenters, 680 Turkeys distributed, 152 souls saved SCSP Senior Employment Program – New Season is a Host Agency which provides employment and training to seniors working in community service.

11 Seasoned With Love Hot Meals – Cooks and serves hot meals every Wednesday at 6:00 pm to homeless and families in need. Heaven on Wheels – Delivers hot meals to homebound seniors and disabled persons in Spring Valley once a week. Delivers hot soups “to go” to the Spring Valley Senior Center during Friday lunch program. Food Stamp Program – Serves as a Community Liaison for the San Diego Hunger Coalition by pre-screening applicants for Food Stamps and assisting applicants with process.

12 Rental/Mortgage/Utilities Assistance Program- Authorizes vouchers for assistance with rental evictions, over due mortgage payments and delinquent utility payments funded by FEMA. East County Pregnancy Care Clinic- Partners with Clinic by assisting in storing large baby items such as: strollers, high chair, car seats etc. Baby clothing and supplies are available upon referrals from clinic. Acts as Church Liaison in fund raising events.

13 Heaven’s Windows Food Pantry – Provides emergency groceries for families and individuals upon request and referrals. Upward Sports Camp– Hosted a Basketball and Cheerleading camp for children grades K-5th. Sonshine Haven Bible Club – Conducts an after-school Bible study club for the children at Bancroft Elementary School every Tuesday at 1:45 pm.

14 Community Free Food Distribution- Every 4th Tuesday at 9:00 am, distributes free food using resources from the San Diego Food Bank and Feeding America San Diego. Clothes for all Nations- New Seasons works with social service agencies and churches serving a variety of ethnic groups and refugees. We provide “gently used clothes” and food at locations at no cost to them, in a location that is close to the most need.

15 Golden SHARE Foods – New Seasons is a Host Site for taking orders and distributing food packages. Golden SHARE is self-help food exchange purchasing food at low affordable prices for quality groceries. New Seasons MS Support Group – Sponsors group by providing support, meeting space, and fund raising support. Group meets every 2nd Saturday of the month at 12:30 pm. Rachel’s House – (Facility that houses homeless women) Provides and serves a hot meal by the New Seasons Women’s Ministry every 3rd Saturday at 4:30 pm.
