CARD 405- Career Development Career planning strategies and resources are explored to prepare students for a successful job search and to maximize potential for advancement and long-term professional growth. Students perform self-assessment and goal-setting activities, and apply research and evaluation skills to execute job search and career advancement strategies. Each student assembles a professional portfolio highlighting achievements, goals and concrete plans. This course must be taken at DeVry. Prerequisite: Senior status / 2-2 (NOTE: You should list all the course descriptions for each course you have taken,are taking, and will take at DeVry. You can cut and paste these from the course catalogue. This can be spread out over several slides.)

Work Samples Insert samples of your work here. You want to offer something that a perspective employer can take and see the quality of your work for them self. Now not everyone will have some small little document that will work nicely here, but you can also use pictures of relevant things you have done or samples of things you have done. It doesn’t have to be a perfect representation. It would be nice if it was, but just giving a visual helps and that alone allows you to talk about what went on. Class projects for courses taken at DeVry can count as a sample of your work (especially for those changing careers). If you are using a class project, just make note of it here and attach the project as a separate file in the dropbox. (Give this some thought though and don’t stick in things that will be difficult for another to appreciate or samples that might not leave the right impression.)
