"It is in the shelter of each other, that people live.“ Who We Are A privately funded, community based “rent gap spot grant” provider. An IRS authorized tax exempt 501(c)(3) organization. Our Board of Directors (4) is comprised of 3 independent directors. "It is in the shelter of each other, that people live.“ ~Irish Proverb

“It is in the shelter of each other, that people live.” Founding Inspiration Our inspiration comes from the book of Micah 6:8 “What does the Lord require of you, but to do justice, to love mercy, and to walk humbly with your God.” Therefore, we seek to achieve social justice for the vulnerable through acts of love and compassion. “It is in the shelter of each other, that people live.” ~Irish Proverb

“It is in the shelter of each other, that people live.” Mission Mission: To lighten the burden on Attleboro, MA area residents through unexplainable acts of kindness that foster relationships. “It is in the shelter of each other, that people live.” ~Irish Proverb

“It is in the shelter of each other, that people live.” Programing We are the only agency providing rental assistance in the greater Attleboro, MA area. Our candidates are sourced 100% by referral. We seek to Identify tenants at risk of eviction due to a rent arrearage caused by a financial hardship. Our maximum grant is 1 months rent. Authorized grant amounts are paid directly to landlords. “It is in the shelter of each other, that people live.” ~Irish Proverb

“It is in the shelter of each other, that people live.” Values We strive to live out these core values: Respect The circumstances leading up to an eviction notice are often complex. We respect unique circumstances of all candidates and work to offer our support either directly or indirectly through other agency referrals. 2. Non-judgmental While important to understand the reasons causing the eviction notice, our work focuses 100% on finding solutions to solving to the time sensitive eviction notice problem. Compassion We return each phone call with compassion. Sometimes just listening to callers talk out their options provides an emotional relief to the stress of a pending eviction notice. “It is in the shelter of each other, that people live.” ~Irish Proverb

“It is in the shelter of each other, that people live.” Budget & Funding 100% of our funding comes from private contributions. We do not receive or participate in any federal, state or local housing programs. 100% of contributions are paid out in “rent gap spot grants”. All administrative expenses are paid by a private party. “It is in the shelter of each other, that people live.” ~Irish Proverb

“It is in the shelter of each other, that people live.” Service Results We receive approximately 10 inquiries (resident calls for assistance) per month. From these inquiries, 10-15% of candidates are approved for “rent gap spot grants”. Our goal in every approved grant is resolve 100% of the outstanding rent arrearage. It is also very important to us to preserve housing stability, especially for families with young children. Our work serves to build relationships and foster a broader sense of community. “It is in the shelter of each other, that people live.” ~Irish Proverb
