ABSENCES & LATES (ATTENDANCE POLICY) REPORTING AN ABSENCE call the school at 905-889-6266, and press 1 when requested email langstaff.ss@yrdsb.edu.on It is the responsibility of the student to make up all work missed. There is a strong connection between good student attendance and successful achievement. We ask that parents attempt to limit the number of classes missed due to appointments. Religious Holidays , medical appointments…

ABSENCES & LATES (ATTENDANCE POLICY) LEAVING SCHOOL EARLY / SIGNING OUT a note signed by a parent/guardian must be brought to the Main Office before leaving. In case of illness during the day, the Main Office will attempt to contact a parent/guardian and obtain permission for the student to go home. If contact cannot be made, the student will be asked to remain in the office. If a student has signed out, he/she is not to be on or near school property.

I have some other plans….. Parents are asked to complete an “Extended Absence” form at least one week in advance of the leave. This form must be signed by the Principal or Vice–Principal and by all classroom teachers. It is the student’s responsibility to catch up on all work missed.

Final Evaluations/Examinations semester I courses January 24- 30 Semester II courses June 18 – 24 Students who miss exams due to vacations, camp, weddings, summer jobs, university orientation, and other planned excursions will receive a grade of zero. All students are required to participate in the final summative assessments that constitute 30% of the final grade. Students are required to write their exams in the place, at the scheduled time, and on the date indicated on the exam schedule

Medical Information Students with a medical condition or allergy need to report the information to the main office. This information is kept confidential, but will be invaluable in an emergency.

Dress Code  Students are expected to dress appropriately for school. Clothing and accessories that are offensive or degrading to them or others will not be tolerated.
