Electives Elective selection We will do our best to schedule electives that fall within your areas of interest Not all electives are suitable for all students; make sure you meet the criteria before selecting a particular elective

Elective Criteria Many elective choices have specific GPA or letter grade requirements and/or applications. Be sure to check your registration guide and registration letter for full details on elective choices.

Special Programs MUN International Baccalaureate Students develop a deep understanding of Global Issues and educate participants in civics and effective communications. Students apply their research and communication skills at MUN weekend conferences throughout the school year. International Baccalaureate The IB Diploma Program is a challenging two-year curriculum for Juniors and Seniors. It leads to a qualification that is widely recognized by the world’s leading universities.

Special Programs AVID A college readiness system designed to increase schoolwide learning and performance. Students are held to high standards of personal achievement with academic and social support. Performing Arts Students can get involved in Drama, Vocal Music, and Instrumental Music.

Recommended Courses If you have questions regarding placement in a particular course, you must discuss your concerns with the recommending teacher Intermediate school teachers will have the opportunity to submit re-recommendations from May 18 – May 22

Elective Course Selections Consider your course selections carefully The courses selected on your registration form are considered finalized when the form is turned in. SVUSD will make staffing decisions based on the courses requested on the submitted registration forms. Changes to courses requested, including elective courses, will not be allowed at a later date due to the impact on the master schedule, staffing, and resource allocation.
