7 CVD 2014 Schedule – Wednesday, March 12 All Events are on Capitol Hill 7:00 a.m. – 9:00 a.m.: AIAA CVD Breakfast, Rayburn House Office Building, Room :00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. : CVD Meetings Please note that there are no Tuesday events. Materials distribution will take place on Capitol Hill. Each team will receive CD-ROMS of the Key Issues and Congressional Directories. It is very important that each team provide Duane Hyland with an accurate count of meetings BEFORE Wednesday, March 12, so that the proper amount of materials are brought to the Hill. Moving large quantities of materials on the Hill will be impossible. Arrangements can also be made to pick up materials in advance of Wednesday by contacting Duane as

No Cell Phones; No private side conversations. Respond – Be responsive to questions and have supporting data handy. Thank – Express thanks for the time, etc.

Public Policy Activities within Region 1 Many sections host local visits with Congressional representation  Usually occurs when Congress is in recess  Builds up relationships established at CVD  Examples: –Direct presentations on a key issue topic –Panel discussions –Meet & greets –Facility tours Nominations for AIAA Public Service Award  The Public Service Award honors a person outside the aerospace community who has shown consistent and visible support for national aviation and space goals Suggest topics for AIAA sponsored Key Issues  Public Policy Committee reaches out to membership every year in June for input in crafting the CVD key issues for the following year 24
