Everything! More than just a roof……  Measuring impact matters  How do we show what difference we make?  Helps keep staff focussed on outcomes Informs our drive for continuous improvement

Our experience More than just a roof……  First social accounts produce in 2008  Measuring impact integrated into our performance management  Simplified approach to capture local impact on a regular basis Approach is sustainable in the long term

Proving Social Value Always done the anecdotes but couldn't prove it – evidence, evidence, evidence Need for ownership by directors and staff Strategic priority – making a difference matters Shows that social enterprise is the most effective form of enterprise Secures investment because we can demonstrate impact

Collating and sharing the evidence More than just a roof…… Key performance indicators and data capture enhanced by good news stories 'Data with Soul' Demonstrates added value to funders and stakeholders  Validates our values

Final thoughts More than just a roof…… You can't not do it – we need to lead by evidence based example Proving what works is a brilliant tool for organisational development Don't make it a science – keep it real Its more than words on paper, it captures why social enterprise is the right way to do business Measuring impact can liberate talent and innovation Influential people read social accounts.
