Taskforce Objectives Create a consistent and uniform process to determine student’s financial aid eligibility Reduce student’s anxiety and fear in requesting financial aid

Taskforce Outcomes 2006/2007 TASFA released January 2006 Training opportunities – Spring & Fall e.g. TG webinar, New Aid Officer’s Workshop, College Board’s Southwestern Conference, TACAC Procedures for Financial Aid Administrators FAQs for FAOs Downloadable PDF (English & Spanish)

Overview of TASFA Section I: Student Information – Dependency questions Section II: Household Information Section III: Additional Information – Student – housing plans, drug question, taxes – Parent – marital status, age, taxes, education

Con’t Section IV: Income & Assets – Part A: Untaxed Income Question 31- cash earnings – Part B: Income exclusions – Part C: Assets Section V: Total Family Income – If income less than 60% poverty level, then explanation required.
