Presentation transcript:

Welcome! NJHS members By: NJHS Officers

What are the NJHS requirements?  Average of 93% or above.  No grade under 80% in any class.  No detentions or referrals.  Attend all meetings (one excused absence with Mrs. Kahn’s approval)  Complete and turn in required service hours – 12 hours per 9 weeks.

Probation Some of you will receive a probation letter for not meeting any one of these criteria. I will check next 9 weeks to see if you have met and then the probation will be lifted. If you need any help with meeting these criteria, please see Mrs. Kahn.

How can I stay informed? NJHS website on Mrs. Kahn’s page. Important dates and service ideas. Instagram – follow us. Announcements and service ideas. Remind 101 NJHS Bulletin boards. One by Mrs. Kahn’s rooms, B hall and front office.

Do we want to go to Market Street again?  This is and easy way to earn service hours.  How many of you would be interested in this project again?

February 10 Family Fitness night for Olson and Anderson here at Curtis from 6:00 to 8:00. We will have a table to promote NJHS. I need volunteers to man the table and to decorate it. Mr. Arnold would also like a group of you to help escort people around the building and do some setting up. Please sign up at the table or outside the choir room and tell me what you would like to help with. Let’s vote to spend $100 to decorate our table.

EE club has service opportunity for us Mrs. Abdelkarim and her group will be cleaning Celebration park this afternoon. You can earn service hours for helping pick up trash. If you would like to participate, meet in her room after school. In addition, you can become a part of this important club and earn service for ALL of their projects.

Let’s vote  PALS are in need of new games to take to for their visit to assigned buddy.  Mrs. Kahn thought we could use some of our money to buy those games.  We need to vote to spend up to $500 dollars on games for PALS.  All in favor, “say, aye”.

School Board Appreciation Month During the month of January, the superintendent has asked ALL of us to send a letter of thanks for all they do for us. The board members volunteer their time to plan for and implement all of the policies that make us such a strong district. Thank you Board President Louise Master, Vice President Susan Olinger, Secretary Jason Shepard, and Trustees Carl Clemencich, Amy Gnadt, Michael Myers and Jimmy Trotter.

The superintendent is asking for notes, letters or signs for display at the school board meeting Monday, January 19. I will need yours tomorrow. This will be for ONE service hour. WRITE YOUR LETTER!

When is the next meeting?  April 2, at 7:45, in the choir room.  Your next TWELVE (12) service hours are due at this meeting.
