6 Don’t Fall Behind Get Organized Seek Help
Use a calendar or agenda to write down all assignments and due dates Keep your completed assignments in the same folder so that you can find them when needed Seek Help Ask questions during class Attend RAMS Request tutoring Students can continue in RAMS if support is needed in a particular subject area. Those interested in tutoring for CSL hours can sign up in the Counseling Office. Tutoring must take place on a school campus under the supervision of a staff member.

7 Grade Reporting Progress Reports Semester Grades – January and June
Issued every six weeks Determine eligibility for school activities including athletic participation Semester Grades – January and June Issued two times each year and permanently posted on the high school transcript Determine eligibility for college Progress Report – Students must maintain a 2.0 GPA with no more than one “F” on their grade report. Semester Grades – Even if a class is retaken in the summer for university purposes, the original “D” or “F” grade will remain on the transcript.

Reminder Good study habits = Good grades Good grades = Long lunch Students who have one “F” two “D’s” or a “U” in work habits for RAMS will be assigned six more weeks of study hall Students will receive a “U” in work habits if they have truancies or do not use their class time effectively

10 What is CSL? The CSL program is designed to encourage community involvement through service oriented activities at non-profit organizations You must complete 100 CSL hours in order to graduate and we recommend 25 hours per year

11 Where Can I Complete Hours?
Service hours must be completed with a non-profit organization and students must provide proof of non-profit status if the organization is not on our approved list – Copies are available in the Counseling Office Please see your counselor if you have questions about an activity

12 Activities That Count Churches Food Banks Hospital Volunteer Programs
Public School Sponsored Tutoring Preschools & Retirement Centers Preschools and retirement centers are not always non-profit but hours will be accepted if your service benefits students and elderly residents.

13 Activities That Do Not Count
Babysitting Tutoring students in their home Working in a doctor’s office Volunteering at a business that is for profit Note: Time will not be counted for lunch/dinner breaks or sleeping on overnight activities

14 How To Record My Hours Time cards are available in the counseling office and on our website Turn in the hours to your counselor soon after a project is completed Note: Hours must be submitted by the last day of school each year or they will not be counted TCHS teachers will record your hours on a separate sign-in sheet

15 Reminders about Community Service Activities
Students are encouraged to complete more than the required CSL hours for universities/scholarships but only 100 hours will be recorded on the transcript Keep copies of your time cards for personal records and reporting purposes Family members may not supervise/sign for your community service activities Incomplete time cards will be returned to students.
