Presentation transcript:

The absence of BVR air combat weapons will change your strategy. Your chances of encounters with bogeys and bandits in medium or in Dogfight range are much higher than in other flights. Iraqi MIG-25 cannot carry R40 Missiles but they are the fastest moving threat in this big theater. Think of all the fuel you might have to burn to evade a persistent Mig. MIG 29’s with the R-27 missile are your most serious adversary. The Big Picture

The R-27 is manufactured in infrared homing (R-27T), SARH (R-27R), and ARH (R-27AE) versions, in both Russia and the Ukraine. The R-27 missile is mainly carried by the Mikoyan Mig 29 in this ODS scenario, However some Mig 23 fighters may carry it. The R-27AE missile is probably not modeled in game, but act as if it were. Remember this about the R27 family of missiles : The have a speed of Mach and a Hit probability of 0.7 All R-27 missiles have a minimum range of fire in km

Iraqi Air Force in AOR – AWACS/MC INTEL.

The Main strategy Priority targets during all sorties are as follows, main target or targets of opportunity: Enemy Aircrafts Surface to Air Missiles/ Scud Sites Strategic/Military Structures Armored/Mechanized Units Engineering Units Infantry Units We will focus our efforts during the first two days within the Following map coordinates : AL-4 > AR -6 & AL-3 > AJ-3. Most flights will be two ship flights giving everyone a fair chance to cooperate, coordinate and communicate more within each flight. If human AWACS is assigned he will be Mission Commander and all flight are to comply with his orders. He will use text for advisory information and only use Comms. for urgent or mandatory actions. ARCP’S will be fixed for the next 72 hours.

-After each flight, the original flight lead is responsible for collecting important Intel that may be a factor in planning the next mission/ adjusting NOTAMs/ROEs. -The use of common sense basic airmanship needs to prevail before situations escalate, use the following as a guideline: -Survival of your flight is your sole responsibility, it is more important than mission Success. -Your judgment is what matters : i.e. just because SEAD says it’s clear doesn’t make it so! Same goes for Escort/Sweeps. Use your experience to anticipate a dynamic environment and take advantage of it. -Update your SA from as many sources as possible (Human/ai Awacs, Comms.) -ROE are there for a reason, be a team player and stick to the contract. -Flight leadership/ good wingmen habits : define expected responsibilities before You fly. Don’t get in the pit without a solid plan. -Please perform a pre flight check/ get informed: HOTAS, TIR, TS Keybinds, Server address, Connection/ disconnection protocols BEFORE the briefing starts.

As usual your best defense is your sense of humor, Plan on having fun and a few surprises.
