KEY CLUB

PLEDGE I pledge, on my honor, to uphold the Objects of Key Club International; to build my home, school and community; to serve my nation and God; and combat all forces which tend to undermine these institutions.

WHAT IS KEY CLUB? Key Club was started in 1925 and is the oldest and largest service program for high school students. It is a student-led organization that teaches leadership through service to others. Members of the Kiwanis International family, Key Club members build themselves as they build their schools and communities. Key Club has approximately 260,000 members in approximately 5,000 clubs. Key Club is represented in over 31 countries.

THE ELIMINATE PROJECT Delivering the cure for maternal and neonatal tetanus. Kills one baby every nine minutes Nearly 60,000 newborn children die every year To eliminate MNT from the Earth, 129 million mothers and their future babies need to be immunized The Eliminate project will reach the poorest, most neglected mothers and babies with additional lifesaving health care. The end of this one disease means the beginning of better health for so many families.

DELAND FALL FESTIVAL OF THE ARTS Saturday and Sunday, November :00am-4:00pm (2 hours shifts) 10am-noon, 11am-1pm, 12pm-2pm, 1pm-3pm, 2pm-4pm Arrive 15 minutes before your scheduled shift Check in at the Mainstreet Center Office Corner of New York and Woodland Same building where the DeLand Museum stores their art (it will be marked and noticeable) Booth Sitters: Provide breaks for artists Dress in school appropriate attire No sweats, shorts, torn jeans, or inappropriate T-shirts Wear your Key Club Shirt

Butter Braid Fundraiser (PICK UP PACKETS) Selling November 3 rd – 14 th A frozen, ready-to-bake pastry that comes in a variety of flavors and fillings Funds will go towards the club for future events such as the Veterans breakfast and for snacks at meetings The Club member who sells the most will receive a movie gift basket with a $25 gift card to Epic Theaters. PUMPKIN SMASH $55 Tips for next year: Two bats, less pumpkins, and plan for two continuous days WHAT DO WE DO WITH THE PUMPKINS?? Gutting pumpkins after meeting for the culinary club (volunteer hours) Baking Pumpkin seeds to sell at school and/or give away at the veterans breakfast

DECEMBER Teacher Toy Drive Courtney Francis Wednesday, December 17 Teacher luncheon (potluck) after school on an early release Wednesday and their “ticket” is a toy for donation Final Mile Race Management The Club plans on volunteering at local races such as 5k’s by setting up a water table for runners and helping with directing the runners. INDEPENDENT PROJECTS At every meeting we will have a list of organizations at which you can volunteer with independently, even if the club as a whole is not sponsoring the event. We do this so that you can ensure to reach your desired number of volunteer hours at a schedule that is convenient for you! New Horizons Power Volleyball Academy

POWER VOLLEYBALL ACADEMY Need volunteers to help run concessions, the store, and help with cleanup. Shifts will be about 4 hours long and they will need volunteers potentially on a weekly basis, usually Saturdays from 8am – 10pm. For more information contact Jessica at (937)
