2. Key Club Pledge

4. What is Key Club?
Key Club is an international student-led organization which provides its members with opportunities to provide service, build character, and develop leadership.
Our goal is to be a place for students to come when they need ideas on how to better their community and inspire service within the school
Members of Key Club should truly enjoy volunteering and have the desire to further help their community.

5. Requirements 40 hours of service per year (10 hours per quarter)
Participation in Key Club sponsored
Activities & inspire others to serve
Please let us know if you have ANY ideas for club sponsored activities. We want you to be active members in the club and we are always open to suggestions, just ask!
If you are short on hours, don’t hesitate to come see Mrs. P or any of the officers! We’re here to help!

6. Expectations
You should be in Key Club for more than just “hours” or “ just to put it on your application”
Key Club members should enjoy finding new opportunities and giving back to the community
Don’t “stop” at 40 hours
We need members who are going to invite others to help us give back and serve the community
We are a team that represents Riverside AND Key Club International
Speak up, follow through, take initiative, and be responsible for communicating
Most importantly, HAVE FUN!

8. Upcoming Events:
Kiwanis Gift Wrapping at the Leesburg Outlet Mall Food Court (12/15-12/16):
*can donate gift wrap items for hours, and also bring friends to help at the gift wrap station* this is a great chance to meet other Key Clubbers and our Kiwanis Club
Belmont Ridge Middle is also looking for Gift Wrap Helpers (12/14): 
The Salvation Army of Loudoun County
Ashburn Village Giant - Bell Ringing (many dates available!)
Loudoun County Salvation Army
Angel Tree/Toy Shop Volunteers (many dates available!)
If you have opportunities that you know of & would like to share with the rest of the club, talk to Mrs. P or ANY of the officers!

9. DCON! Key Club district convention in Baltimore, MD March 15-17, 2019
Theme: Island Paradise
Guest speakers, leadership conference, awards, dance, etc.

10. Questions from the Google Form
If you attend ACL on the day of the meeting (they aren’t based on A or B so hopefully you’ll make it to most) YES you can find the meeting PowerPoint on the club website right afterwards
Meetings are the last Tuesday of each Month (see previous slide for dates)
If you have particular activities you are interested in (animals, shelters, etc.) please let us know! We want to have committees to get students together with similar interests and have a nice club presence at locations
You are not required to earn the hours from any particular type of service (i.e. firehouse or at schools) we ask that when we have club sponsored events at Riverside or for the Kiwanis (like holiday gift wrapping) that we get as much participation as possible but we want it to be meaningful to YOU!

Fill out this google form by 12/20 and turn in money to Mrs. P in an envelope with your name on it if you want this years t-shirt!
