l This presentation will discuss solving problems using information provided by the MCS-MAGNUM l Some forms of information recorded include: l Print to File, Alarm Info & Graphs We will review solving the following 2 problems l Problem1: Unsafe Oil & No Amps l Problem2: Suct Superheat Hunting u Problem Solving

u Problem1: Unsafe Oil & No Amps l We have a Print to File We have an Alarm Info Print

u Print to File

u Print to File (System Info Portion)

u Print to File (Alarms Portion)

u Print to File (Alarm Info Portion)

u What Do We Do? l If we have no amps there is something mechanical holding off the power to the common of our relay. l It could be a high discharge mechanical switch? l It could be the motor overload? l It could be a circuit breaker? l Check the wiring diagram.

u Problem2: Suct Superheat Hunting l We have a graph showing interaction of data

u Graph

u Graph Expanded Scale

u Interaction of Data l When Liquid Injection comes on it drives Discharge temperature down in 1 min & 15 sec from 180F to 170F. Then, because of the large amount of refrigerant it goes down another 10F to 160F. l Next we see Suction temperature and Suction Superheat going down. l Solution Modulate Liquid Injection so it brings down discharge temperature at a slower pace and has very little overshoot.

u Graph (After Liquid Injection Adj)

u Results After Adjustments l When Liquid Injection comes on now it drives Discharge temperature down in 7 to 12 min depending on load. The overshoot is usually less than 1 F. l Next we see Suction temperature remains steady to maybe.5 F l So by analyzing the interaction of data we can pinpoint the problem an resolve.
