 Location  The Philippine Islands are to the southeast of China, and north of Indonesia.  More than 7,000 islands make up the Philippines, but only about 25 of them have towns.  Many islands have volcanoes.  If you push all the islands together, the Philippines is about the size our state of Arizona.

Weather: The weather is tropical—hot and humid. It’s cooler in the highlands of some islands. Ocean storms called typhoons often hit the islands. The rainy season (monsoon) in the northeast region occurs from November to April. In the southwest the monsoons come from May to October. Other Fun Facts: The Philippines has some of the world’s best diving and snorkeling, including diving among shipwrecks and with whale sharks.
