Aims of the Day: To explore the specific issues to be considered when providing sex and relationship education for children and young people with additional support needs To present a staged approach to programme delivery, based on safety To assist participants in identifying and developing a suitable programme for their area of work 3. DEVELOPING THE PROGRAMME Working through the elements of a staged programme of relationship and sex education. Finding choosing and adapting suitable materials 1. Body awareness (hygiene) 2. Linking into existing programmes for sex and intimate relationships When, where and how? 4.PUTTING THEORY INTO PRACTICE Practical exercises where participants will have the opportunity to use the information presented in the workshop to develop an outline for a programme to be used in a specific situation of their choosing or for an example child.
