Self-disclosure People engage in self- disclosure to create and maintain relationships.
Use the following categories to begin thinking about your self-disclosure.
Public Things most people would know about individuals.
Public/Private Things individuals would tell others if they asked questions.
Private Things only a few others might know about individuals.
Example of self-disclosure categories Public: I’m athletic. Public/Private: I write poetry. Private: Certain fears.
