A Personal Note: Thank you for selecting my press kit. Gillian E. Smokey Vale, Kingston, Jamaica

Gillian E About Gillian E.: Gillian E. Murray has been naturally gifted in art, particularly drawing, and creativity from a very young age. Spending many hours studying the pages of and being under the influence of "Vogue" Magazine, she loved fashion, symmetry, fragrances, cosmetics... The proverbial "girlie-girl" (with a little bit of Tom). Gillian E. is fascinated by the world’s wealth of history, art and culture from various eras. In peaceful moments she concocts fashion images and visions then translates them to paper. First and foremost, her designs are about creative balance and beauty. Although she obtained her education in a completely different field from fashion design she was always drawn back to it. Unable to curtail her passion for her unique creative insight, she felt compelled to focus on it more and more seriously. Today, she has embarked on this adventure that consumes her time joyously. Her History: Lillian Murray was Gillian's grandmother and namesake. Gillian's name was supposed to be "Lillian" but Lillian insisted that it was too old-fashioned for the baby. The person who inspired Gillian from an early age, Lillian was an expert in the art of cutting and sewing as she was a seamstress who excelled in her field. Having lived in New York in the 1950s, Lillian loved the Arts & Entertainment industry and was very stylishly classic in all her self-presentation and practices which influenced Gillian tremendously.

Gillian E. In 2010, Gillian E. Designs, Inc. was established after Gillian attempted to fulfill her dream. She entered her first fashion show and presented swimwear that caught the attention of the local press attendee. She received a good review. Four months later, Gillian entered the second show with her original gowns and garnered the attention of a local radio announcer. Now, Gillian continues once again, with her line and label: "Gillian E.“ Her Expertise: Gillian E. loves everything unusual and is inspired by world art and mannerisms of eras. Since she is a lover of world history she naturally adores museums. Gillian is Jamaican born and raised. She attended college in the United States and is multi-cultural, mitigating between the Jamaican, Indian, British and American cultures. In addition, her creations are fuelled by the exquisite curves and graces of the femme body. Her Commitment: For her Haute Couture gowns, Gillian creates, you choose and she custom fits for you only. Gillian’s 2 year old Down’s Syndrome son is the reason she markets her gowns in a different manner. She makes only one of each gown she creates in an effort to donate some of her profits to the Jamaica Down’s Syndrome Foundation. Gillian wishes to showcase her future gown collections only at runway shows and plans to add a men’s line next year. Swimsuits are available to all online in typical standard sizes Facebook: Gillian E. Designs, Inc.

Gillian E. Designer: Gillian E. Murray Tel.: Facebook: Gillian E. Designs, Inc. Gowns & Swimwear Inspired from an early age by world art, world history, “Vogue” magazine, the curves/graces of the female body and symmetry...the proverbial but tommy-“girlie-girl”, Gillian E., creates unique one-of-a-kind designs. Gillian E. loves everything unusual and is influenced by world cultures. She mixes and matches the various cultural expressions depicted in world art, making her creations multi-cultural with a motto of “Only One” (gown) per client. Gillian E. creates, you choose, she custom fits for you only. Swimwear is available to all. Her plans include menswear in next year’s collection Collection In Caribbean Fashion Week by Pulse, Kingston – Jamaica, Gillian E. showcases her collection: “Natural Geometry”. Subtly combining Egyptian, Indian, Arabian and Eastern European style with various angles and curves, Gillian creates symmetry in asymmetry.
