Wilma Rudolph

Childhood She had 22 siblings. She had Polio when she was four years old and it made her crippled. When she was 8years old she used to use a leg brace. Three years later she didn’t have to use a leg brace.

Olympic She started running and she ran well during high school. She ran for the 1960 Olympics. And she got 2 gold medals, one for 100 meter race and one for the 200 meter race. She felt pain but she ran again for her team in 400 meter and won one more gold medal.

After retired She retired when she was 22years old. She became coach for women’s track team. She died of brain cancer in1994.
