Health Professions Opportunity Grant Improving the Health of our Nation Funded by the United States Department of Health and Human Services Target Population- TANF and other low-income individuals Provide opportunity for participants to obtain education and training for occupations in the healthcare field “Issksiniip”- knowing is active participation with the world and the ability to make reference to past experiences and to contextualize them in a system of meanings to make sense of present experiences and formulating the basis for decision making Five year grant- 32 awarded nationally, 5 awarded to tribes This is a result of the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act Blackfeet word that implies

Scholarship Components Educational Attainment Tuition, Fees, and Books Mentoring and Tutoring Support Services Career Placement Volunteer Opportunities Internships Job Selection Mentoring Mentor for each student-Need to set-up schedule once assigned Tutoring Tutoring will be available for all Issksiniip Project participants-Tutoring schedule will be determined by UM Support Services Childcare, transportation, housing, uniforms, etc. Your Logo

Career Placement /Job Development The Issksiniip Project maintains a Referral network with employment agencies around the community, state & federal Maintains an information center, Aids in the development of the student’s individual education plan, cultural plan, and life plan, develops internship sites with health agencies. Career Placement /Job Development Issksiniip Project’s main objective is to get people into the workforce!
