Increase self-sufficiency of low-income individuals including low-income veterans. Improve the education level and career opportunities for 200 high school dropouts by providing basic skills training and incentives for completing GED.

TANF Demographics 500 TANF recipients and other low-income individuals in the state of Kansas 66 percent of TANF households are headed by a single parent, of whom 94 percent are females with an average of two children About 37 percent of TANF recipients do not have a high school diploma or GED About 50 percent of TANF recipients have severe and/or multiple barriers to employment
