Title:Solo Girl Retold by:Isabella,Jacob,Schuyler and Bryan. Original story by:Andrea Pinkney

Setting/Character Slide The characters are Pearl,Cass, Ma Lettie, Jackson, and Bud. The setting is on Haskins street. Pearl is an excellent jump roper who is kind enough to teach Cass to jump rope too. Jackson and Bud are Cass brothers. Cass is the main character. Ma Lettie is Cass’s mother.Cass has a silver flute. She is good at math.

Solution The solution was Pearl and Cass made a deal. The deal was that Cass would teach Pearl times tables if Pearl taught Cass double dutch. And so Cass taught Pearl times tables and Pearl taught Cass double dutch.

Problem Cass did not know how to do double dutch. Pearl did know how to do double dutch. Pearl did not know how to do times tables.

Connection This awesome book reminds me of when my brother taught me how to scare mom just like Cass’s brothers taught her how to jump rope. We were both practicing outside. Then I tried to scare my mom just like Cass tried jump roping. Then I tried to scare my friend Taylor sort of like Cass jump roped with Pearl. That’s my connection to Solo Girl.
