Answer it Jonathan meets the landlady who tries to persuade him not to go. Prove it from the text “I insisted I must travel” Explain it (Harkers thoughts and feelings) When he refuses to stay the landlady tries to make him take the crucifix for safety. “No! I mean…Yes I will take it, thank you…your very kind” At first Jonathan does not appear to believe the landlady. He is determined to go to the Castle. Because she is so worried he agreed to take the crucifix. Jonathan meets the girl He arrives at Dracula’s Castle He meets the hags In Act 1 Scene 1 Is Jonathon Harker walking into a dangerous situation?
