PHASS Aims: Target Scotland’s resources to deliver higher standards of health and safety more effectively; Co-ordinate effort across devolved and reserved government interests; Promote the benefits to people, businesses, and Scotland’s economy of working in a safe and healthy environment

Future development of PHASS – some thoughts Maximise the benefit of the broad partnership that has been established in Scotland; recognise and increase the interconnectedness among all those involved in workplace health and safety; Develop PHASS’s role in strategic thinking regarding the way forward for workplace H&S in Scotland; Work toward a close relationship with the Scottish Parliament Encourage the Scottish Parliament to undertake broad based, regular scrutiny of workplace H&S in Scotland; Encourage and work with the Scottish Parliament and Government to produce and ongoing Workplace Health and Safety Action Plan

Future development of PHASS – some thoughts Maximise activity on workplace health and safety in all devolved areas, including: -public health -occupational health -environmental health -justice -economic development Bring to PHASS a wider range of outside research/opinion to inform and stimulate debate
