2012 Del Val Chargers Jr. Lacrosse Parents Meeting By: Andrew Niebuhr (With a little help from his sons, Jake and Charlie)

Who Are We? K~8 th Grade Feeder Lacrosse System for the Children in the DVRHS Sending Districts Founded by Brent Kephart and friends in 2001 Now in our eleventh season we are 175 members strong 10 Grade Specific Teams Practice and play our home games at Alexandria Park Play within the Competitive NJJGLL and NJJLL Members of US Lacrosse (National Governing Body of our Sport) Volunteer Run Organization (both Board and Coaching Staff) We Honor the Game

Long Term Goal of Chargers 1.Win State Championships at DVRHS 2.Inspire Student/Athletes to play at higher levels by teaching them to love the game of Lacrosse 3. Continue to balance the needs of all our players beginner and elite

Guiding Principles 1. Prioritize the needs of the youth, lead by example and exercise patience in teaching the sport 2. Provide the opportunity to participate in the sport at a reasonable cost 3. Develop all around athletes/good citizens in the community 4. To provide for the players’ safety at all times. This includes but is not limited to coaching, conditioning, equipment, and facilities

IMPACT Testing John Malaspina IMPACT Test is a neurological test taken prior to concussion to establish a baseline prior to an injury In the event of an injury a second impact test is taken and results are compared by a Doctor The results will help show the severity of the concussion and determine the proper time taken off before returning to play Online test taken in comfort of your own home on your own computer Not mandatory but it is recommended for all 7 th and 8 th grade athletes. Test is being offered free of charge

Fields Bill Romaine I need volunteers. Each team will be giving me at least one name (that’s 10). 12 week season must paint 10 times plus big effort leading up to Ice Bowl 4/28 & 4/29. Fields is always looking for help to keep our lines painted. Great way to get some exercise and a great tan!

Concessions JoAnn Apgar Work duty schedule coming soon Will work with Team Coordinator to confirm work duty (1~2 hrs) for upcoming weekend games Ice Bowls require 7 th Grade Boy Parents and 5/6 th Grade Girl Parents to work Ice Bowls always require extra volunteers if you are available
