To represent the industries’ needs to the policy makers and politicians at the appropriate time and to drive change. To influence the European process and link to the national process in member states to follow through To use existing policy flow to generate advantage To keep industry aware of emerging changes BUT Requires industry investment OBSERVATION –Stick together wherever possible…the sector has other enemies –There is always more to do : choose the right focus –Timescales are long….so pace is important –There is enough legislation ….we need implementation –Build strong alliances….the competition is tough

Co-operate on common design issues and compete on development, product and marketing. Get governments help through energy efficiency policy to create the market
