LIONS CLUBS INTERNATIONAL 14/07/2012 Clever Mugadza fDG INTERNATIONAL PRESIDENT THEME; ‘IN A WORLD OF SERVICE’ Lion Wayne Madden In a world of need, there is someone to help; in a world of destruction there is someone to provide relief, in a world of illiteracy, there is someone to teach. And in a world of service, Lions Clubs International stand out-to make a difference. President Wayne is calling on us lions to not only celebrate our service world but to expand our impact, be agents of change in our communities and rise to meet new challenges. To do that he calls on us to grow our membership and build stronger clubs.

LIONS CLUBS INTERNATIONAL 14/07/2012 Clever Mugadza fDG In addition he has given special focus to a ‘Reading Action Programme [ RAP] where he is asking Lions Clubs to participate in this year long initiative, a campaign to improve literacy rates and promote reading.

LIONS CLUBS INTERNATIONAL 14/07/2012 Clever Mugadza fDG DISTRICT GOVERNOR THEME ‘LEADERSHIP WITH EFFICIENCY AND INTEGRITY’ Lion Clement Michael Ndala ‘Leadership with efficiency and integrity’ theme coincidentally ties in with IP theme to make a difference in our community of D412 to achieve our membership and service goals and to expand our service. He calls on cabinet officers and club leaders at every level to be pro-active and efficient in administration and service activities. It recognizes potential in each and every lion leader. Leaders at every level must think out strategies for their roles devise formulas and be effective change agents for the clubs they look after; visionary in club extension. The task at hand of elevating our district requires Integrity in actions and finances, stamina, endurance, and careful planning to succeed.

LIONS CLUBS INTERNATIONAL 14/07/2012 Clever Mugadza fDG His service goals [continued participation in the global service action campaigns] include: -Engaging youth/leos [August] -working with the blind/visually impaired [October] -feeding the hungry [Dec/January] -improving the environment [April] -protecting 150 million children from measles in our new partnership with Bill Gates and Melinda Gates Foundation.

LIONS CLUBS INTERNATIONAL 14/07/2012 Clever Mugadza fDG GOAL STATEMENTS-DISTRICT 412 GOVERNOR MEMBERSHIP AND NEW CLUB GROWTH PLAN NEW CLUBS 10 CLUBS x 20 MEMBERS 200 (Mozambique=1, Malawi=3,Zimbabwe=3, Botswana=3) NEW MEMBERS IN EXISTING CLUBS 270 LEOS GRADUATING TO LIONS 15 REINSTATED MEMBERS 15 =500 NET GROWTH TARGET 500 LIONS ADMINISTRATION OF CLUBS/ZONES/REGIONS NEW CLUBS /CHARTER MEMBERS MEMBERSHIP GROWTH RETENSION STATUS QUO & DROPPED CLUBS & MEMBERS (STRATEGIES TO MINIMISE LOSS) +1 / +20 CHALLENGE: Sensitise small clubs to increase their membership to minimum of 20 and for all clubs with 20+ members to add a minimum of 5 n ew members - ‘each member bring a new member.’

LIONS CLUBS INTERNATIONAL 14/07/2012 Clever Mugadza fDG Organise and encourage Branch membership -Encourage/organize family, Women, student and Special Interest membership recruitment,and raise awareness on the benefits of lions membership. - Proactive ‘Leo to Lion’ Conversion: On- going. -Identity potential new club organizers and provide charter guidance. -Arrange extension training workshop on request. -Encourage Zone based events to promote membership recruitment to be addressed by DG/VDGs/PDGs. -MMR Assistance: Encourage zone chairs to assist weak clubs to fill and submit MMR of any club that fails to submit WMMR every month. -Encourage zero drops of members between July, 2012 and December,2012. For any drop you have to make, bring a new lion to replace.

LIONS CLUBS INTERNATIONAL 14/07/2012 Clever Mugadza fDG Promote effective orientation plans in all clubs, zones & regions including use of Club Excellence Process at all District Governor’s Advisory Committee Meetings [zone]. -Encourage and Implement LCI dues remittance instalment plans -Provide re-organisation support at zone level for status quo clubs and Ensure number for such clubs is small because of improved activity level. -Undertake Certified Guiding Lions Training and Certification in each country and Support Certified Guiding Lions and Club Organisers. -Encourage Clubs to undertake LCI Global Action Service Campaigns including ‘Reading Action Programme’.
