The Epiphany of the Lord

Alleluia, Alleluia, Christ is with us He is with us indeed Alleluia And so we gather. In the name of the Father…

Three wise men from Eastern lands Journeyed over desert sands, Climbed up hills and down again; You can’t wear out these three wise men! Three wise men of royal descent Watched the night sky as they went, Keeping clearly in their sight The guiding star that shone so bright. Nothing’s going to stop us, as we go. Nothing’s going to stop us, no, no, no! Even Herod’s armies can’t deter These men with gifts of frankincense, gold and myrrh! Nothing’s going to stop them, as they go. Nothing’s going to stop them, no! no! no! Gifts of frankincense, gold and myrrh!

Lord Jesus, you radiate your light on all the nations of the earth: All praise to you. Lord Have mercy. Lord, have mercy. Jesus Christ, you offer justice and peace to all willing to accept you: All praise to you. Christ have mercy Christ, have mercy. Lord Jesus, you will have pity on the weak and save the lives of the poor: All praise to you. Lord have mercy

Alleluia, Alleluia

A Reading from the Holy Gospel according to St. Matthew Glory to you, Oh Lord The Gospel of the Lord Praise to you Lord Jesus Christ

Alleluia, Alleluia

I wonder what you heard in the Gospel today. How do you think the wise men felt when they found such an important king in such humble surroundings? How do you think Mary and Joseph felt to receive such important visitors who had travelled so far to see baby Jesus?

Ritual response

The response is sung, Lord hear our prayer. As brothers and sisters in one loving family, together let us pray to our heavenly father. The response is sung, Lord hear our prayer. For governments and nations taking their first steps on the journey towards peace. Lord in your mercy, hear our prayer. For refugees forced far from home and family. For the sick and the dying as their journey through life comes to an end. For people who must make a long journey today.

Knowing that our Heavenly Father is listening, in the silence of our hearts let us share our own unspoken prayers with Him.

but we have found the greatest treasure of all. We bring treasure, but we have found the greatest treasure of all. Instrumental The greatest treasure of all.

Loving Father, watch over your children as we journey through life Loving Father, watch over your children as we journey through life. Keep us close to you love, so that through us others may know you. Grant this through Christ your Son. Amen
