Ingredients List 2 Sticks Butter 1 Cup white Sugar 1 Cup Brown Sugar Firmly Packed 2 Large Eggs 2 Teaspoons Vanilla Extract 2 1/2 Cups Flour 3/4 Teaspoon Baking Soda
Ingredients List Cont. 1/4 teaspoon salt 1 cup Chocolate Chips Note: Can add 1 cup of toasted and chopped nuts.

Written Cooking Instructions Preheat oven to 350 degrees with rack in center of oven. Line a baking sheet with wax paper. Set aside. In bowl a mixing bowl, use electric mixer soften the butter. Add the white and brown sugars and beat until fluffy (about 2 minutes). Beat in eggs, one at a time, making sure to beat well after adding each egg.
Written Cooking Instructions Cont. Add the vanilla and beat until well mixed. In a separate bowl, combine flour, baking soda, and salt. Add the dry ingredients to the egg mixture and beat until well mixed. Add the chocolate chips about half way through mixing. Cover the dough and refrigerate until firm (about 30 minutes).
Written Cooking Instructions Cont. Drop about 1 tablespoon of dough per cookie onto the prepared baking sheet. Leave 2 inches between each cookie. Bake about minutes, or until lightly browned around the edges. Cool completely on wire rack.
