 Departmental Grant Manager – Enters information into SPS.  Sponsored Projects System (SPS) is where Grant Managers can edit grant proposals, route them through the approval process, generate paper forms for government sponsors, and track basic award information.  ERA Commons stores basic information about users and reflects the level of authority for the proposal process.  Grants.duke assists Duke Medical Center and Campus personnel with the electronic submission of grant proposals to federal sponsors.  Grants.gov is where proposals are submitted.

NIH will letting you know that your proposal contains errors and will not move forward for scientific review. To be reviewed, the errors must be completed. Work with your Grant Manager and ORS to get the errors corrected.

 set aside time to write the grant.  read all directions and follow guidelines (SF424).SF424  make a personal “to do” list; check it off.  be considerate of others’ time.  get quality feedback.

 exceed the page limit  use an unapproved font, pagination, spacing  skip any sections  think any section is not important/necessary/essential
