Utopia Final Essay -Complete sentences -Topic Sentence or introduction -Punctuation/capitalization -State your position -Provide at least three reasons to support you position -Concluding sentence or conclusion

Version #1 Lois Lowry’s, The Giver, is an example of a futuristic utopia. I believe this is a world full of good intentions and actions that can only produce perfection and order. The Giver’s society eliminates life-threatening illness and even physical and mental pain. The Giver’s society is also designed so that violence is NEVER a part of the world. Lastly, in the Giver’s society, the people live without the burden of food shortages, housing issues, and clothing necessities. I feel this society sacrifices individual gains so that everyone is truly equal and has what they need to live happily. The Giver is truly a utopian world; a life without illness, violence, and the necessities to live in peace, sounds like Heaven to me!

Version #2: Paragraph Break Down Lois Lowry’s, The Giver, is an example of a futuristic utopia. I believe this is a world full of good intentions and actions that can only produce perfection and order. The Giver’s society eliminates life-threatening illness and even physical and mental pain. The community members can always ask for pain relief or a medication that will take a simple headache out of their life. There have been many occasions in my life, when people have suffered due to physical pain, and it makes me ecstatic to think of a world without medical nightmares.

The Giver’s society is designed so that violence is NEVER a part of the world. People share their feelings twice a day, to make sure that they are mentally healthy and can cope with the tiny problems they may encounter. The society can “talk out” all of their burdens, so that they do not act irrationally or make a physical decision, that would cause a violent consequence. I wish our world could take pointers from this.

Also, in the Giver’s society, the people live without the burden of food shortages, housing issues, and clothing necessities. This is such a stress on our society and many families live without the things they need in their daily lives. I feel this society sacrifices individual gains so that everyone is truly equal and has what they need to live happily.

The Giver is truly a utopian world; a life without illness, violence, and the necessities to live in peace, sounds like Heaven to me!
