Theme: Character accentuation and self-esteem of first and second year study students Scientific supervisor Associate Professor Olga A. Dniprova Language supervisor Senior Lecture Natalia O. Chernyak

The object of our research is the self-esteem of youth age. The subject of our research is the correlation of self-esteem with character accentuation in youth age. As one of the factors determining individual typological features of self-concept are considered accentuation of character - "excessive growth of some of its features, which affects the whole behavior of the subject leads to increased vulnerability in relation to certain psychogenic influences in good or even increased tolerance of others "

The aim of our research is the study self- esteem and accentuations of character at persons of youth age.

To achieve this goal have been made following tasks: 1. Summarize the theoretical work of domestic and foreign authors are devoted to the study of self-esteem and character accentuations persons youth age; 2. Empirically explore the features of the relationship between the type of character accentuation and features self-esteem of boys and girls years old.

The hypothesis of our diploma is to assume that there is some correlation between the level of self-esteem and the type of character accentuation in persons of youthful age.

The methods that was used in our research: 1. Methods of theoretical analysis (analysis, synthesis, generalization); 2. Test method: 2.1 The research methods of self-esteem S. A. Budassi - carries out quantitative research of self-esteem 2.2 Method K. Leonhard - S. Shmishec - determine the type of accentuation of personality, that character a certain direction; 3. Correlative analysis by the criterion of Pearson.

In the figures we can see a correlation between self-esteem and character accentuation of the group of students with high self- esteem.

On these figures, we see a correlation between self- esteem and accentuations of character groups of students with low self-esteem.

As can be seen in students with high self- esteem is dominated such accentuation as: hipertymnist and cyclotimia. These teenagers are almost always good, even slightly elevated mood, high tone of life, wild energy, uncontrollable activity, constant aspiration to leadership.

Students with low self-esteem is dominated by such accentuation as: demonstrativity, anxiety, exaltation, distimnist. That people are characterized by low contact, self-doubt, minor mood.

In our opinion, the results, despite the insufficient number of respondents giving the basis for the development and testing of recommendations on increase of efficiency of educational process in universities, thanks increased attention to individual work with students, taking into account their individual psychological characteristics as character accentuations and self-esteem.
