Dress Code To have one or not have one. Ms. Lanzoni Professional Communication Period 4A January 15, 2015

Dress Code Do we really need a dress code? No schools do not need a dress code. According to the Debate.org website where 72% of the posters voted no. codes codes Now as far as my opinion goes, although I do not agree with many of the dress code rules on our campus, I do feel that some guidelines are needed. Such as; the length of skirts and types of shirts that can be worn are concerned and how to measure what is appropriate and what is not.

Dress Code Some Dress Code Guidelines are needed I do know that some dress code guidelines are needed. No one wants to see more of someones body that is necessary. I do not wish to see a too short skirt or a top that does not cover up where it should. No one should be able to dress like a slut. The same goes with the boys. I really do not want to see someone’s underwear. I understand that is the look when with your friends or in public if you choose but at school it is not appropriate. It is too distracting to see students exposing themselves in this way. Now as far a facial hair, hair length and color. I do not see the big deal. The same goes with piercings and or tatoos. Okay so at first kids will stare and comment but after a day or two that will stop.

Dress Code How to Measure Appropriateness? On our campus the rule for skirts is approaching the knee. Okay well due to gravity all skirts regardless of length are approaching the knee. I think that there needs to be a more precise way to measure a skirt length. For example when you kneel on the floor your skirt is touching the floor all the way around. Not just in the front. I have seen girls whose skirt looks okay in the front but they have a full butt so in the back it rides up too short. If they just bend over a little I am seeing stuff I do not want to see! EEWWWWW!

Dress Code In conclusion I feel that a dress code is needed but not a dress code that prevents someone from showing uniqueness or individuality. I truly think that you can allow high school students to wear what they want with some guidelines. I mean you have to allow students to make their own decisions at some point. Why not allow students to practice making good decisions at school instead of waiting until they graduate and then they mess up at their job. wZKFdmJt8
