2 Head Gear: Do’s and Don’ts Hats are not to be worn on campus during school hours. Don’tDo

3 Suggestive or Offensive Tee Shirts Students may not wear garments with obscene or offensive language, or garments that portray or support drugs, tobacco, or alcoholic beverages. Students may not wear garments with suggestive sayings or pictures.

9 Shoes: Do’s and Don’ts Students please take care when choosing the type and style of shoe that you wear to school. Injuries have occurred to students’ feet who chose to wear flip flops and high heels. You may wear them but use caution. Someone may step on your toes or bump into you in the hall.

10 Sunglasses: For Outside Only! Students are not permitted to wear sunglasses in the building. Sunglasses must be stored in your locker or in your book bag. Please do not wear them on your head or around your neck. NO

11 Gentlemen Pants: Do’s and Don’ts SFMHS students must wear pants that are appropriate. Use the following guidelines to determine if your pants are dress code appropriate: Appropriate pants will be worn at the natural waistline and will not reveal undergarments – regardless if the shirt is covering the pants. Appropriate pants do not have holes or rips. Appropriate pants do not sag and drag on the ground. Appropriate pants do not have attachments that can injure the student or others. Appropriate pants are not pajama bottoms.

16 Gentlemen Shirts: Do’s and Don'ts SFMHS students must wear shirts that are appropriate. Use the following guidelines to determine if your shirts are dress code appropriate: Appropriate shirts will not be open down the side under the arm. Appropriate shirts will be buttoned and not show the student’s chest or undershirt. Appropriate shirts are not undershirts, tank tops, or sleeveless jerseys.

19 Bandanas Bandanas are strictly prohibited anywhere on school grounds. Students cannot wear them on their heads, around their necks, or hanging from their pockets. NO

20 Ladies Dress Code Issues: Shorts and Skirt Length Shorts, skirts, capris, and dresses may be worn, but must be near the knee in length. Students may use the 3 inches above the knee as a guideline to determine proper length. Clothing items not meeting this guideline are not acceptable.

24 The skirts in these pictures are not acceptable. Ladies’ Clothing Don’ts The skirts in these pictures are not acceptable. Skirts worn with tights must meet the 3-inch rule. This skirt is too short.

25 Ladies’ Clothing Don’ts The tops in these pictures are not acceptable. All tops must cover the upper torso appropriately. No tank tops, spaghetti straps, or swoop neck shirts are allowed. The midriff must be covered as well.

28 Consequences for Dress Code Violations Students who are determined to be in violation of the SFMHS dress code must alter their dress before they will be allowed to enter the classroom. Students who cannot alter their dress will be place in ISS for the remainder of the day. Students who repeatedly violate the dress code will receive discipline up to Out of School Suspension.
