Guidelines for OR Presentations (#1 applies to ALL presentations; #2, which continues to the next slide, applies to the “Author Research” task) 1.Provide a brief summary of the novel (use plot triangle)—don’t give away the ending (this applies to ANY of the projects you choose) 2.If you choose to do the “Author Research” project, please do the following: 1.Create a slide (or slides) for early life and mention early influences on his/her writing 2.Create a slide (or slides) that addresses 1.the types of books he/she writes (or wrote) and 2.his/her style of writing (very formal language, informal language, surprise endings, killing off main characters, female or male protagonists, etc.)

Guidelines for OR Presentations (“Author Research” requirements continued) 3. Create a slide that provides samples of this style (from the novel you read) 4. Create a slide that explains the influence the time period in which she/he lived had on the author’s writing 5. Quotes by and about the author (regarding writing or life philosophy) 6.
